Hi, I’m Nicholas Preston.

I’ve always been drawn to the stories objects can tell—especially the ones that have been around a while. You’ll usually find me wandering through antique stores like The Mart Collective, camera in hand, searching for treasures and details that catch my eye. Photography lets me highlight the beauty in these objects, whether it’s a vintage sign, a quirky sculpture, or something totally unexpected.

I also create my own artwork—bold, colorful pieces that reflect how I see the world. Through painting, clay, and mixed media, I’m constantly experimenting and chasing that spark of creativity.

When I’m not working on art or photography, I love spending time at the library, exploring the Santa Monica Promenade, or enjoying the ocean and nature at Santa Monica Beach. I’m always on the lookout for new finds around Los Angeles—it’s a city full of surprises. My curiosity and love for discovery fuel my work and my life.

A lot of my growth as an artist comes from the guidance of my mentor, Frank Paletta, who taught me to take risks and trust my instincts. I’ve been fortunate to show my work at Bergamot Station, and I’m always excited to keep exploring, learning, and sharing new ideas.
